Sizing & fit.

How do I find my LUMĒ size?

Our size guide walks you through four steps with only a soft measuring tape. Most clients sit comfortably between a 32A and a 42E — if you're between sizes, size up: our silk softens with the first six wears.

I'm between two sizes — size up or down?

Size up. Our natural fabrics have a small amount of give and relax into the body over the first week. Sizing down often feels compressed after wash.

Does LUMĒ run true to size?

Soft-cups run true to size. Bralettes suit a relaxed fit and run a touch roomy in the band — size down if you want a close fit. Bodysuits are cut long through the torso; if you're over 5'8", size up.

My band feels tight after a few wears — is that normal?

A new band feels snug for the first three to five wears, then settles by roughly 2–3 cm as the silk relaxes. If it's still uncomfortable after a week, write to us and we'll exchange it — no questions.

Can I exchange for a different size?

Yes — within 30 days, unworn, in original packaging. Complimentary exchange both ways in Malaysia and Singapore. We also include a prepaid return label in every order.

Do you carry plus sizes?

We currently size XS to XXL, covering roughly 30A to 42E. We're extending the range in Autumn 2026 — subscribe to the atelier letter to hear first.

Any pieces for post-partum or small cups?

The Camille Soft-Cup and Margot Bralette are our most requested post-partum pieces — wire-free and forgiving. For smaller cups (A/B), the Lou Triangle and Petra Triangle are the cleanest fit.

Can someone help me size over WhatsApp?

Yes — please do. Send your band and bust measurements plus your usual brand/size to +60 12 345 6789. A fit consultant (a human, who's fitted thousands) replies within an hour.

Do the sizes shrink after washing?

Less than 1% if you hand-wash cold and lay flat to dry. Machine wash and dry will shrink silk more noticeably — we don't recommend it.

Orders & payment.

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayPal, Apple Pay, GrabPay, Touch 'n Go, and FPX direct bank transfer (Malaysia). All transactions are in Ringgit Malaysia (RM).

Is it safe to enter my card?

Yes. Payment is processed through Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1) — we never see or store card details. The checkout is fully encrypted (TLS 1.3).

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Yes — within two hours of placing it. After that, the atelier has already begun packing. Email care@lume.atelier with your order number.

Do you offer installments?

Not directly, but GrabPay Later and Atome are available at checkout for Malaysian orders — 3 interest-free installments on orders over RM150.

Are prices inclusive of SST?

Prices displayed are before SST. 6% Service Tax is added at checkout for Malaysian orders. For international orders, duties & taxes are pre-paid to 54 countries and calculated at checkout.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes — digital gift cards from RM100 to RM1,000, delivered by email on your chosen date. Never expire. Redeemable online and in any of our four studios.

Can I use a promo code on sale pieces?

Promo codes apply to full-price pieces only. Archive sale items are final sale at the listed price.

I received an order confirmation — when will it ship?

Within 48 hours of order, Monday to Friday. You'll receive a second email with a tracking number once dispatched.

Shipping & delivery.

How much does shipping cost?

Complimentary on orders over RM300 in Malaysia. RM15 otherwise. Singapore: complimentary over RM400, SGD 10 otherwise. International tiered rates calculated at checkout.

How long does shipping take?

Malaysia: 1–3 business days (Pos Laju & J&T). Singapore: 2–4 days. Southeast Asia: 3–5 days. Rest of world: 5–10 days. Express options available at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — 54 countries. DDP (delivery duties paid) to most destinations, so no surprise fees at the door.

Can I pick up in-store?

Yes — free click-and-collect from our Kuala Lumpur (Bangsar Village II), Singapore (Tiong Bahru), and Paris (Marais) studios. Ready within 24 hours.

Is packaging discreet?

Always. Unbranded outer courier bag. Inside, our signature ivory & wine box — which opens to reveal the piece wrapped in silk tissue and tied with a ribbon.

My order hasn't arrived. What do I do?

Please check the tracking link in your dispatch email first. If it's been stuck for more than 48 hours, write to care@lume.atelier with your order number — we'll chase the courier and replace if lost.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Couriers deliver Monday to Saturday within Malaysia. We don't dispatch new orders over the weekend — those placed Friday afternoon ship Monday morning.

Returns & exchanges.

What's your returns policy?

30 days from delivery, unworn, tags attached, in original packaging. Complimentary — every order includes a prepaid return label. Archive sale pieces are final.

How do I start a return?

Sign into your account and request from the order page, or track as guest using your order number. You'll get a prepaid label by email.

When will I get refunded?

Within three business days of receiving your return. Funds take a further 5–10 days to appear on your card, depending on your bank.

Can I try it on before returning?

Yes — you're welcome to try pieces on over clean, light clothing. Items returned with visible wear, makeup, or scent cannot be refunded.

What if the piece arrives damaged?

Write immediately — we'll replace on the house and cover return shipping. Please send a photo within 7 days of delivery.

Do you accept returns in-store?

Yes — drop in at any studio during opening hours. Bring the packaging if you have it, we'll handle the rest.

Fabric & care.

How should I wash my LUMĒ pieces?

Hand-wash cold with a gentle detergent. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight. No wringing, no tumble dry. For cotton and modal, a delicates bag + cold machine cycle is acceptable but hand-wash extends life.

Can I machine-wash silk?

We don't recommend it. Even on delicate, the agitation and heat break down the silk's natural sheen. Hand-wash takes three minutes.

What fabrics do you use?

19 momme silk charmeuse (Como, Italy), long-staple Peruvian Pima cotton, Austrian TENCEL™ modal, and French silk & lace. No polyester, no elastane-heavy blends.

How long should a piece last?

Two to three years of weekly wear with proper care. We make pieces to last — clients tell us theirs outlast anything else in the drawer.

Will silk yellow over time?

Not with care. Avoid direct sunlight when drying and store in a cool, dry place. Most yellowing comes from deodorant or heat — both avoidable.

Can I iron LUMĒ pieces?

If needed — low heat, always on the reverse, never directly on silk. Steam is gentler. Most pieces don't need ironing if hung flat after washing.

Where are your studios?

Do I need an appointment?

Walk in any time during open hours. Private 60-minute fittings are also complimentary — book via the contact page or WhatsApp.

What happens during a private fitting?

A fit consultant measures you, walks you through fabrics and cuts, and lets you try as many pieces as you like — no pressure to buy. Coffee, tea, or something stronger is always offered.

Where is LUMĒ made?

In Porto, Portugal — a family-owned atelier of twelve machinists and one master cutter. Fair wages, 40-hour weeks, six weeks annual leave. We visit four times a year.

Account & privacy.

Do I need an account to order?

No — guest checkout is available. An account lets you track orders, save sizes, and see archive pieces, but isn't required.

How do you use my data?

To fulfil your order and, if you opt in, to send the atelier letter. We never sell or share data. You can request deletion at any time — email privacy@lume.atelier. Our full Privacy Policy is plain-English, two pages.
