We make fewer, better pieces — designed for how women actually live, not how they're asked to appear.
LUMĒ began with a simple frustration: the everyday bra had been left behind. Either functional but ugly, or beautiful but painful. Nothing made for the woman who wears it eighteen hours a day and wants neither to notice nor be noticed by it.
So we spent two years building one — then eleven more. Our pieces are cut slowly, from natural fibers, on real bodies. We release six small collections a year, no more. Every fabric is chosen for how it behaves after ten washes, not two. Every seam is placed where the body bends.
The result is not fashion. It's what happens when you stop pretending intimate wear is about performance — and start making it about rest.
The average time a new piece spends in development. Six fit rounds, three fabric iterations, at least twelve test wears per prototype.
Twelve machinists, one master cutter, two pattern makers. A family-owned studio in Porto — fair wages, forty-hour weeks, six weeks holiday.
We use only silk, cotton, modal, and natural lace. No polyester, no elastane-heavy blends — nothing that cheapens the feel or crowds the landfill.
From a Parisian studio table to a Porto atelier — the pieces that got us here.
Founded by two friends from a fashion house and a textile lab. One stitching machine. Six first pieces, all in silk.
We move production to a family workshop in northern Portugal — the cutters we'd been dreaming of, four generations in.
Our first soft-cup to sell out in a single morning. The piece that defined the house — and taught us we'd been right to wait.
A second studio opens in SoHo — fittings, repairs, archive pieces. By appointment only.
Twelve pieces. Four new fabrics. The slowest edit we've released — and the one we're most proud of.
A studio of twelve in Porto, four in Paris, and three in New York. These are the names you'll meet when you visit.
